Pregnant Pause

The conversation by two intensified when
These inquisitive young spirits focused and then

The topic then went deeper, heading dead straight
To an unfamiliar place which began tempting fate

As questions and answers still grew more intense
And unbridled passions scaled over a once too high fence

When all of a sudden a question was asked
So very direct, disarming, not masked

And while the silence seemed forever, the waiting insane
After a long pause came the answer far from inane

And in the end such sweet memories were imprinted because
Their minds aligned completely from that special pregnant pause
