Catastrophic Pleasures

These are the pleasures where we do stick out our neck
For they seem very right so we think "What the heck"
So we go for the Gold while cutting ourselves slack
And with our blinders as shields we follow that track
For the colors around us seem rosy and bright
Until we pay more attention and notice with fright
That pleasure's what we seek, we're oft blinded by same
And sometimes it ends as a catastrophic game
